Young carers
What is a young carer?
It's anyone under the age of 18 years who cares for someone who is ill, has a disability, is experiencing mental ill health, is affected by drugs or alcohol abuse or has HIV/AIDs. The person being looked after may be a parent, grandparent, brother, sister, relative or friend. Young Carers are unpaid!
However much you love someone, caring for them can be difficult and stressful so don't feel embarrassed or ashamed to ask for help.
If you live in Coventry help is available from the Young Carers Project - to find out about the Project and how it can help you click here .
