Wheels To Work
Wheels to Work scheme is for individuals who cannot access transport to get to full time employment or employment based training.
The scheme provides a travel plan. If, as a result it is found that there is no suitable public transport available, there is the possibility of a loan of a moped for up to 6 months.
Will I be eligible?
To be eligible for the W2W scheme you must:
- be 16+ and left statutory education
- hold a CLEAN provisional licence
- be in full-time employment or employment based training or awaiting transport to start employment or training
- have a journey of no more that 25 miles in one direction
- be living or working in one of the eligible areas within Warwickshire
The following area are not eligible for the scheme as they are not classed as rural areas based on population:
- Kenilworth town
- some parts of Nuneaton town
- Rugby town
- Warwick town
- Leamington Spa town
- Stratford upon Avon town
- Coventry
However if you live in one of the above areas but work in a surrounding rural area (or vice versa) you may still be eligible for the scheme.
Costs
- £25.00 non-refundable deposit to be paid at the beginning of the scheme which is to be sent in with the application pack
- a monthly payment of £40.00, made by the individual towards the upkeep of the moped, which includes servicing and normal wear and tear repairs
The cost also covers the safety equipment, insurance costs, Compulsory Basic Training and breakdown cover.
Failure to pay, or meet the scheme's terms will result in the moped being withdrawn.
