R-PLACE/CHILL OUT+
WHAT IS R-PLACE?
R-Place is a free, media course for 16-18 year olds not in education, employment or training (NEET). You will get the chance to:
- Use multi-media equipment
- Create video and music contents for an on-line TV channel
- Learn new skills
- Meet new like-minded people
- Achieve certificates and accreditation
- Receive support to move into employment, training or further education
The course runs for typically 10 weeks (although it is open as long as you want to participate) consisting of 12 hours per week, over 3 days on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. If you complete the 10 weeks you may be entitled to EMA (if you are eligible), which could be up to £30 a week. You can still claim income support (but not Jobseekers Allowance) and your parents/carers will continue to receive their current benefit entitlements.
If you are interested and want to find out more about the R-Place project contact Jason Daniel on Tel: 024 76707493 or email jason.daniel@cswp.org.uk
Chill Out+ is a Children's Funded project that supports young people to remain in further education.
