Child Benefit
This is paid to people who are bringing up children it will continue to be paid to parents and carers of children aged up to 19 years if they are still in full-time education e.g. at college or school 6th form.

Job Seekers Allowance (JSA)
If you are aged 16/17 years old JSA is not normally available to you because you are guaranteed a place on work-based learning with a training allowance. However, you maybe able to claim JSA if you are forced to live away from your family and/or suffer severe hardship click here for further information.
Income Support (IS)
This is paid to people such as:
- lone parents
- people unable to care for themselves
- people who are ill or have a disability
- people on low wages
