Cyberbullying
Cyberbullying is when a person, or group of people, use mobile phones or the internet (including emails, chatrooms, etc) to threaten, tease or abuse someone else. There are a few steps you can take to try and avoid cyberbullying and also to help you stay safe online:
-
don't reply to nasty messages - this will encourage them to send more
-
keep copies of abusive messages (for evidence in case matters get more serious)
-
never give out personal details on the internet
-
don't post photos or videos on the internet that you wouldn't be happy for anyone to see
-
never arrange to meet someone you have met on the internet
-
keep your passwords private
If you are a victim of cyberbullying or online abuse, you can report this by going to www.thinkuknow.co.uk - then click on the "report abouse" button.
