Someone I know is being bullied

If you know someone is being bullied you must try and help them as they may not be able to help themselves.  It’s not always easy as you may be afraid that the bully will then target you if they find out you have interfered.

If the bullying is taking place in school you don’t need to get directly involved – tell a teacher what is going on and let the school deal with the situation.  If possible, let the person being bullied join your group of friends or just offer a few words of encouragement.

If the bullying is taking place outside of school, try and let the parents of the victim know, or in some areas there are community support officers who can help.
