Gambling

There are lots of different forms of gambling such as playing bingo, buying a lottery ticket or scratch cards, playing on fruit machines or betting on horses.  For most people it's a bit of fun and escapism which gives them a short "buzz".  Unfortunately for some that buzz becomes addititive and that's when it becomes a problem.  Once you start running up debts because you are gambling money you can't afford to lose then you are in trouble and need to seek help.

Gamblers tend to get caught up in a vicious circle of winning and losing.  When they lose they think that the next big win will make things right but this is rarely the case.  When they win they often continue to bet because they think their luck has changed and they cannot lose - another big mistake!

Gambling addiction can lead to all sorts of problems with finances and personal relationships.
